Courtney Dutton, a clinical PhD student mentored by Dr. Matt Feldner, was recently awarded a two-year Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) from the National Institutes of Health. The research training fellowship, entitled Test of the Effects of Social Conflict on Posttraumatic Stress Symptoms and Alcohol Craving, will cover tuition, stipend, research costs, and travel throughout the duration of the project, which involves a detailed training program and laboratory test of the short-term impact of individualized reminders of social conflict on posttraumatic stress symptoms and alcohol craving among hazardous drinkers with at least subthreshold PTSD.
