The Disgust and Anxiety Lab

Disgust & Anxiety Lab

Disgusted Faces

Research Statement

A majority of the research in our laboratory is dedicated to the investigation of cognitive and emotional processes underlying the etiology and maintenance of disordered anxiety. More specifically, we are focused on the role of disgust and information processing biases in obsessive-compulsive disorder, health anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder. In addition to this, we are involved in several basic experimental-psychometric studies that are designed to improve the measurement and basic understanding of disgust. Lastly, we have begun investigating the role of disgust in social, political, and individual domains.

Please feel free to contact us if you have questions, are interested in participating in any of our studies, or would like to become a research assistant in our lab.
